Our programme of talks for 2022 is now available here. We start off with a talk about The Mary Rose, given by a speaker from the Mary Rose Trust. This should be of special interest as (Covid permitting) we are planning a trip to visit the Mary Rose on 18th May.
In February we’ll be delving into Second World War defences as they appeared on our doorsteps. Andrew Powell-Thomas will be talking about the Taunton Stop Line, based on his recent book.
In March we hear again from a speaker from the Brunel Institute, this time telling us about Brunel the man, rather than about his ships. We’ve discovered that Brunel visited Langport and surveyed the old Bow Bridge, so we feel a particular affinity with him.
Further details of the talks for the rest of the year will be released in the New Year.
