Today we are republishing an excellent concise account of the Battle of Langport, which took place on this day in 1645. Written by Graham Edwards, The Battle of Langport: a short historical account was originally published in 1995 to coincide with a re-enactment of the battle that was staged in that year. We have had the contents re-formatted to A5 size to make it easier to read.
Its clear explanation of the events and the main characters, together with its simple illustrations, make this one of the most accessible histories of the battle.
