A special talk by Tim Schroder will describe the remarkable treasures belonging to seven local parishes.
The seven parishes are Aller, High Ham, Huish Episcopi, Drayton, Curry Rivel, Swell and Fivehead (to which are added the churches of Low Ham, Langport and – for good measure – Muchelney).
Tim says: The churches of the Somerset Levels are full of fascinating things. This lecture looks at the seven churches that form our new benefice. Its main focus is on their remarkable silver treasures, but it begins by setting them in context, looking at the churches themselves and their remarkable works of art.

The images above show a communion cup and cover, dated 1692, from St Andrew’s Church, Curry Rivel, and the 1912 Trevilian window in St Catherine’s Church, Drayton.
His talk will be delivered in St Mary’s Church, Huish Episcopi on Sunday 26th January at 2.30pm. It is free to members. Visitors are very welcome at £4 per person, the same as for our other talks.
