The answers to our latest quiz, It’s criminal, are now available here.
We had a total of 62 entries, of which 43 came from Somerset and 19 from elsewhere in the UK. One person emerged as the clear winner with 98½ points – Susan Spires, from Reading, so our congratulations go to her. There were 2 runners-up with 98 points: Norman Burton, from Long Sutton, and Denis Hale, from Cumbria. Close behind them were Bob Smith from Derbyshire and Vania O’Brien, from Bolton, Lancs, both with 97½ .
Just a few comments: Several entrants put ‘Graffiti’ as the answer to Q3: Tea with a tennis player – it’s a cracking answer, but unfortunately not the one I thought of, which was Alcatraz. I was a bit worried for those who put ‘Decree nisi’ as the answer to no. 26: Written release clause. What sort of crime & punishment did that relate to?
This quiz raised a record total of over £388 for the History Society, so thank you again.
Our next quiz will be available at the end of September
