The results of our latest quiz are below. The answers are available here.
We had a record total of 86 entries, of which 6 were scans returned by email.
60 entries came from Somerset. 25 from elsewhere in the UK + one from Australia! Almost 48% of the entries scored 95 or more points. Two people scored a perfect 100 points, Jean Baker, from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and Jane Lee, from Great Amwell, Hertfordshire. Their names were put into a metaphorical hat and drawn out by my next-door neighbour. The fortunate winner therefore is Jean Baker, so our congratulations go to her, and our commiserations go to Jane Lee!
Four people scored 99½: June Foster from Glastonbury, Eoin & Diana Fraser from Taunton, Elizabeth Sloman from Burnham on Sea, and Clare Day, from Chiswick in London. Half marks are caused by spelling mistakes! Four more scored 99 points: Susan Spires from Reading, Helen Venn from Taunton, Barry Chapman from Martock and June Barker from Somerton. Congratulations to all our entrants!
This quiz made a record total of £450 for the History Society, so we thank everyone who bought a quiz sheet.
